FFelted. is run by Margaret Chalmers
Margaret has been a feltmaker for about ten years. Now based in Yorkshire, Margaret was originally from Aberdeen and Scottish elements creep into her work. She works with many types of wool, including British rare breeds. Pieces are made by hand using traditional wet felting technique. Margaret is a member of the International Feltmakers Association.
Learn to felt
Workshops and venues can be arranged to suit your needs: groups, individuals, beginners or experienced, school projects and exam students. Margaret gives talks to groups, such as Women’s Institute, crafting groups, etc. She has an enhanced DBS certificate.
In this workshop, learn to make unique pieces of 2D felt to use in many ways. You will learn how to make good quality felt; colour is up to you! A good introduction to making felt.
In this workshop you will learn how to create a 3D vessel using a resist. Depending on felting experience, more complex designs can be made.
Commission your own piece
Why not commission a piece of work? Whether for a present, or for yourself, the choices and details are up to you, …even down to which breed of sheep’s wool you would like to use.
